2011 Chevrolet Volt

The 2011 Chevrolet Volt uses a range-extending gas generator that produces enough energy to power it for hundreds of miles on a single tank of gas.

The Volt will be powered by a Lithium-ion battery pack. While there are many different kinds of lithium batteries like the ones used in computers and cell phones, the Volt cells are specifically made for vehicles. The Li-ion battery holds its charge efficiently and has no memory effect, which means you don’t have to run it down completely before recharging.

The Volt battery is designed for long life and to be reliable. Each battery pack is made up of more than 200 rectangular cells arranged in a series-parallel configuration. Computer systems monitor the battery cells to make sure everything is working correctly.

Volt Features

The 2011 Volt features such interior entertainment including: AM/FM in-dash single CD/DVD with CD MP3 Playback stereo, video monitor, auxiliary MP3 audio input, built-in hard drive, Telematics USB connection, hard drive based display with voice activation and directions navigation system, OnStar telecommunications service, hands free phone Bluetooth wireless data link for navigation system, and Bluetooth wireless data link for hands-free phone.

Safety features on the Chevy Volt include antilock brakes, stability control, front side airbags and full-length side curtain airbags. The 2011 Chevrolet Volt will soon be available at your Fort Worth Chevrolet dealership, Jerry’s Chevrolet.
