Chevy’s new Camaro not only lives up to the hype but also redefines what a muscle car can be. It is an excellent performance-car value whether it’s equipped with the base V6 or the optional V8. The V6-powered base Camaro can sprint to 60 mph in 6.0 seconds, thanks to its 300 horsepower.  The V8-powered Camaro SS with the manual transmission dispenses with 60 mph in a blistering 5.0 seconds — 426 hp will do that for you.

The Camaro boasts an independent rear suspension and refined handling characteristics. The base direct-injected 3.6-liter V6 is the same sophisticated engine that the manual-transmission as the Camaro SS.  This is some serious hardware, and it truly delivers the performance goods.

The 2010 Chevrolet Camaro delivers enhanced driving excitement.  Whether it is equipped with the V6 engine or with the chest-pounding V8, the Camaro will have the muscle car gods gazing down and beaming. On the road, the Camaro’s ride matches its muscular appearance and its fuel economy is impressive. You also get handling abilities, retro-cool styling and impossible-to-ignore pricing. The 2010 Camaro is available in five trim levels, starting with the base LS, and moving up through the ranks with the following designations; 1LT, 2LT, 1SS and 2SS.

Base LS cars will get a standard 300-horsepower 3.6-litre V6,18-inch alloy wheels, a dual exhaust system, six-speaker audio system with XM radio, OnStar, Stabilitrak electronic stability control, plus front, side-thorax and side-curtain airbags.

Move up to the 1LT and along with the LS’ standard equipment list you’ll get a powered driver’s seat, fog lights, and Chevy’s Driver Information Center trip computer. A glass sunroof and 19-inch rims are optional, as are upgraded tunes thanks to a nine-speaker, 245-watt Boston Acoustics audio system. A Convenience & Connections package can also be had, adding Bluetooth and USB connectivity.

The 2LT improves upon the 1LT package with heated leather seats, ambient lighting, auxiliary gauges in the center console, auto dimming interior and exterior mirrors, a remote start for automatic transmission cars, a leather steering wheel with redundant audio and cruise buttons, rear parking assist, and heads-up display. The Bluetooth and USB package, 19-inch wheels and audio upgrade that were optional on the 1LT are also now standard. 2LT options include a power sunroof, an Inferno Orange Accent interior, 19-inch polished aluminum wheels, dual vinyl Rally Stripes in White or Cyber Gray, and floor mats.

Better yet is the 422-horsepower 6.2-litre V8 that comes standard with the Camaro SS. The 1SS package gets standard 20-inch wheels, upgraded four-piston Brembo brakes, a limited slip rear diff, and an upgraded engine and transmission cooler. The 1SS can also be had with optional polished aluminum wheels, a sunroof, and the top-line sound system.

Those that still want more can opt for the 2SS trim, which includes everything the 1SS package has as well as all that comes with the 2LT package, plus the addition of twin rally strips, the glass sunroof, and a special Inferno Orange Accent interior scheme.
